Soap was a successful American sitcom that ran on ABC from 1977 to 1981.
Soap was a parody of daytime soap operas presented in a half-hour primetime sitcom.
Soap is set in the fictional town of Dunns River, Connecticut, and each episode begins with a shot of two women chatting over lunch as announcer Rod Roddy intones, "This is the story of two sisters: Jessica Tate and Mary Campbell".

The show was originally a half-hour serial until it was expanded to 45 minutes in 1976 and to one hour in 1978.

Battlestar Galactica's Edward James Olmos wasn't kidding when he said "the series is even better than the miniseries." As developed by sci-fi TV veteran Ronald D. Moore, the "reimagined" BG is exactly what it claims to be: a drama for grown-ups in a science-fiction setting.
The mature intelligence of the series is its greatest asset, from the tenuous respect between Galactica's militarily principled commander Adama (Olmos) and politically astute, cancer-stricken colonial President Roslin (Mary McDonnell) to the barely suppressed passion between ace Viper pilot "Apollo" (a.k.a.
Battlestar Galactica is a complete re-imagining of the 1970s series – upping the ante on the action, adventure, and drama that made the original so popular.

Trivia: "Soap" was actually the working title for the show, while the producers tried to come up with a better name, and was used all through preproduction.
"Soap" is one of the funniest of America's exports to the U.K. It may have been considered risque back in the late seventies but all the hullaballu about the show's contents seems silly twenty-odd years on.

Benson (TV series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Benson worked his way up the ladder during the series, going from butler to head of the Governor's household staff, to state budget director, and eventually was elevated to the position of Lieutenant Governor.
At the end of the series' final episode (Seventh season finale), it was election night, and with the race still too close to call, Benson and Gatling, who had strained relations due to the race, made their peace with one another and sat down together to watch election returns on television.
As the broadcaster began to announce that a winner in the election was at last being projected, the episode ended with an unresolved cliffhanger to the series.

As the show progresses, it speeds up to present a digest version of the still ongoing manga, yet it starts to diverge to tell its own story, which is slightly different from both the manga and the original Chinese tale.
