 | | The sociable plover, also known as the sociable lapwing, only breeds in northern Kazakhstan and bordering regions of Russia, and winters in the Middle East, Northeast Africa and Northern India. |
 | | The reserve is not due to open until autumn 2006 next year, but in an unprecedented move, the reserve was opened up periodically for the public to see the sociable plover. |
 | | Over the 2 weeks or so that the sociable plover was present, over 1,700 people visited the reserve to see this rarity and would like to thank all who have helped to marshall and guide visitors on site. |
