Topic: Sociable number

Sociable number - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sociable numbers are generalizations of the concepts of amicable numbers and perfect numbers.
A set of sociable numbers is a kind of aliquot sequence, or a sequence of numbers each of whose numbers is the sum of the factors of the preceding number, excluding the preceding number itself.
If the period of the sequence is 1, the number is a sociable number of order 1, or a perfect number—for example, the proper divisors of 6 are 1, 2, and 3, whose sum is again 6.

A happy number is a number for which the sum of the squares of the digits eventually equals 1.
Sometimes a narcissistic number is defined as a number equal to the sum of its digits raised to a certain power, or, more specifically, as an n-digit number equal to the sum of its digits raised to the nth power.
Sociable numbers are like amicable numbers, but they come in larger groups.

Category:Number theory - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Traditionally, number theory mathematics concerned with the properties of integers and many open problems that are easily understood even by non-mathematicians.
More generally, the field has come to be concerned with a wider class of problems that arose naturally from the study of integers.
Number theory may be subdivided into several fields according to the methods used and the questions investigated.

Problem 23.- Divisors (V) Aliquot sequences, Sociable Numbers.
As we saw in the Problem 22, one possible end of an aliquot sequence is to reach to a cycle of numbers.
I have verified the existence of some of these cycles, and found that the least number that generates - in some instant of the develop of the aliquot sequence - the cycle of order k = 5 is n = 9464.
The least number that generates the cycle of order k = 28 is n = 2856.

For a number n, we define s(n) to be the sum of the aliquot parts of n, i.e., the sum of the positive divisors of n, excluding n itself: so, for example, s(8)=1+2+4=7, and s(12)=1+2+3+4+6=16.
A perfect number is a cycle of length 1 of s, i.e., a number whose positive divisors (except for itself) sum to itself.
However the sum of unitary divisors, bi-unitary divisors, or infinitary divisors of a number is always even, unless the number is a power of 2.
