Left-wing politics   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-02)
In politics, left-wing, political left, leftism, or simply the left, are terms that refer (with no particular precision) to the segment of the political spectrum typically associated with any of several strains of socialism, social democracy, or liberalism (especially but not exclusively in the American sense of the word), or with opposition to right-wing politics.
Equality, social justice, democracy, labor rights and trade unionism, concern for the poor, working-class solidarity and internationalism are the values typically associated with the Left wing of the political spectrum.
While many American "liberals" would be "social democrats" in European terms, very few of them openly embrace the term "left"; in the United States, the term is mainly embraced by New Left activists, certain portions of the labor movement, and people who See their intellectual or political heritage as descending from 19th-century socialist movements.

NationMaster - Statistics > Total tax wedge > Single worker by country
In the case of Mexico the 15.6% is plain wrong, we pay that much just as sales tax, the normal is around 30% plus sales, plus gas taxes that makes you wonder if you really live in an oil producing country.
Also I have no idea how they came up with the United Kingdom being at #22 they are very heavily taxed too maby not the income but things like sales, ground and automobile taxes are outrages.
The tax rate for Mexico can;t be right; having worked there for 20 years I know for a fact that it's AT LEAST 35%.
