 Democratic Party (Serbia) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Democratic Party (Serbian: Демократска странка or "Demokratska Stranka") is a political party in Serbia.
The party is not a part of the minority government (under Prime Minister Vojislav Koštunica), which took office in March 2004 after a dispute over whether the new government should accept support of Milošević's Socialist Party of Serbia or not.
Democratic Party was one of the founders and most numerous parties of the Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS), and its member until the breakup of the coalition.

League of Social Democrats in Vojvodina (Liga Socijaldemokrata Vojvodine, LSV) is a multi-ethnic, anti-nationalist, anti-war, social democratic party in Vojvodina.
The party headquarters of the LSV is in Novi Sad, the biggest opposition city of Serbia, with a clear majority of democratic parties in the city council since the local elections of 1996.

Serbia and Montenegro chose to stay in the federation and on April 27 1992 in Belgrade, passed the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia thus making Serbia and Montenegro the formal successors to Yugoslavia and gaining international legitimacy.
Serbia held Presidential elections recently which showed Vojislav Kostunica, a moderate nationalist, as the winner, but they are being disputed because only 45 % of voters participated (only 2.9 out of 6.5 million people voted) and the election was declared invalid.
Radical party supporters are calling for a boycott of any future elections since their candidate was eliminated in the first round.
