Sodomy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sodomy is a term of religious origin from the story of Sodom and Gormorrah in the bible.
The term “sodomy” derives from the name of the ancient city of Sodom, which according to a common interpretation of the Bible, was destroyed by God for its sins (see Sodom and Gomorrah).
In the King James version of the Bible, the term "sodomy" is used to translate a heterogeneous group of original-language terms, thus linking them to the Biblical account of Sodom and "sodomy" as currently understood in ways that may not have been intended by the authors of the original texts.

Sodomy law - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The precise sexual acts meant by the term sodomy — and its synonyms buggery, crime against nature, unnatural act, deviant sexual intercourse and a range of similar euphemisms — is rarely spelled out in the legislation, but is typically understood by courts to include any sexual act which does not lead to procreation.
This age was lowered to 18 in the East in 1968 and the West in 1973, and all legal distinctions between heterosexual and homosexual acts were abolished in the East in 1988, with this change being extended to all of Germany in 1994 as part of the process of German Reunification.
Sodomy laws in the United States, laws primarily intended to outlaw homosexual acts were largely a matter of state rather than federal jurisdiction.

LAWRENCE V. TEXAS   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
Early American sodomy laws were not directed at homosexuals as such but instead sought to prohibit nonprocreative sexual activity more generally, whether between men and women or men and men.
Instead, sodomy prosecutions often involved predatory acts against those who could not or did not consent: relations between men and minor girls or boys, between adults involving force, between adults implicating disparity in status, or between men and animals.
The longstanding criminal prohibition of homosexual sodomy upon which Bowers placed such reliance is as consistent with a general condemnation of nonprocreative sex as it is with an established tradition of prosecuting acts because of their homosexual character.

They have tried to disguise their promotion of Sodomy in the Church be referring to the souls who are engaged in this sinful and disgusting life style as "wholesome examples to the flock of Christ" and as living in "life giving holiness".
By encouraging Sodomy the Sodomy Bishops help perpetuate souls in their sin, they fail to help these sinners to repent, and they fail to give them the support of the church in their struggle to achieve wholeness through our Lord Jesus Christ.
By encouraging Sodomy the Sodomy Bishops place stumbling blocks in the lives of many innocent souls who are trying to follow Christ.

Sodomy is filthy, and it must be made "exceeding sinful," that is, if we are to preach "sin and righteousness and judgment"-- "that which is good." Sodomy makes its followers sick almost all the time with all manner of trouble in the bowels and with kidney and urinary infections frequently.

If sodomy is addictive, it is clear that females would evolve to be sexually aroused by sex that suggests it was desired by her own nature as opposed to just adventitiously as a result of having been sodomized, so sodomy being addictive furnishes an explanation for the locations of the female erogenous zones.
Scientists have never really investigated whether sodomy be addictive (periodically I go to search engines and search these studies, and I never find anything) in the chemical sense that ordinary people tend to use when they use the word addictive in a useful sense (i.e., not as a synonym for pleasant).
Sodomy being evil explains why it was advantageous for the y-chromosome (which largely regulates testis development) to have stopped evolving—presumably much of the addictiveness of semen stopped evolving at the same time, at least until genes on the other chromosomes took over.

 Sodomy
While the word sodomy in its contemporary context is generally used to mean "ass rape" or at least "anal sex", historically and legally the term has had a much broader meaning.
Originating in the 11th century, the word sodomy was coined by Saint Peter Damian to replace the earlier term "Sin of Sodom".
Oddly, although lying with mankind, as with womankind was an abomination in the bible, evidence shows that homosexual marriages were still sanctioned and performed in the Christian church, at least up until the Middle Ages.

The strictest view of sex in Jewish and Christian traditions is that all non-marital and extra-marital sex is sinful, and that the only appropriate use of the sexual organs is for procreation (or for bonding of husband and wife through sexual pleasure).
These Biblical citations were the original sources of the legal prohibition on anal sex in the earliest "sodomy law" passed by the English Parliament in 1533, during the period of the early English Reformation.
Courts differed as to which acts were covered, with many finding that because of their historical origins, the sodomy laws did not prohibit oral sex, although other statutes or common law principles, such as "lewdness" or "wanton and lascivious behavior," could be used to prosecute those apprehended engaging in oral sex.

U.S. Supreme Court Strikes Down Sodomy Laws
The Court's reasoning then was that if sodomy in private by consenting adults was made legal, laws against adultery, incest, prostitution and other sexual crimes would not be prosecutable.
Another error made by the court was the assumption that sodomy is a "victimless crime." This ignores the fact that the moral standards laid down in the Bible are for the protection of the society.
If sodomy is victimless, what about the thousands of hemophiliacs who received AIDS tainted blood donated by homosexuals.

Sodomy flaw. By Kristin Eliasberg - Slate Magazine
In later theology, sodomy became associated with unnatural sex acts in general but was interpreted broadly and never limited to homosexual sex; in fact it included all forms of non-procreative sex.
Similarly, in Colonial America where sodomy proscriptions were first used to encourage population growth, they ranged across various forms of "carnal knowledge," though generally including anal sex between men and men, men and women, and men and animals (oral sex not making an appearance in the statutory records until after 1868).
In sexual regulation, same-sex sodomy laws are now in effect in only four states, while heterosexual and homosexual proscriptions have been repealed in all but nine states.

The essence of the term sodomy then includes any use of the sexual faculty —by two humans or one human and an animal— that by act or intention precludes the bringing of new human life into existence.
