Software Automatic Mouth - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Software Automatic Mouth, or SAM, was a speech synthesis program for the early personal computers, developed and sold by Don’t Ask Software (now SoftVoice), and a distant ancestor of PlainTalk, found in today's Mac OS.
SAM was not the first commercial software voice synthesis program.
SAM was featured in the recent online game Peasant's Quest, a parody of 1980s adventure games, where it was used to produce the speech of the ending boss Trogdor.

S.A.M., however, is entirely softwarebased, using no hardware at all (except for a simple digital-to-analog converter and amplifier board in the Apple version).
Again, S.A.M. does this entirely with software, while the Voice Box has an additional tuning knob which lets you adjust the overall speed and pitch of the speech from slow and guttural to fast and squeaky, very much like changing the speed of a tape recorder.
Software included with the Voice Box provides a "skeleton" program, complete with the machine language necessary to use the "fl box," that you can add to your own program.

The difference between SAM on the Atari 800 and text-to-speech conversion on a PC is that the PC voice sounds a bit more realistic, and the PC has a GUI that's pretty but doesn't offer much value.

Most landlords though do not keep their rental agreement or leases in a word processor software program to help make the task easier when they wish to modify their agreements.
The end result, most landlords seldom update, modify or strengthen their agreements and therefore their agreements are not as effective as they could be, which could cost a landlord hundreds if not thousands of dollars, simply because you did not address or cover a particular issue in your agreement before problems arose.
With the new Rental Clause software program, once you enter (or copy and paste) your current rental agreement into the program, or use one of the sample agreements provided as a "starting point", you will be able to easily and quickly modify your rental agreements whenever you determine it is necessary.

Commodore also planned a variety of software that was supposed to work with the unit -- even cartridges could trigger speech thanks to a passthrough on top of the Magic Voice.
Unfortunately, this was not as well documented as the BASIC extensions, but the functionality was easy to access (if inconvenient, since the driver code sat right in the $C000 space, a very untenable location).
There were also plans to develop true text-to-speech software (finally!), a prototype of which was also demonstrated at CES 1984, but Commodore never released it either.
