Sol Invictus isn´t similar to Death In June, so those of you who dislike Mr.
Douglas´ extravagant musical diatribes might feel a certain relief, because this band is much less weird and more listenable than Death In June, at least live, and you´ve got no excuse to reject Sol Invictus´ presence in your CD collection.

A long, long time before anyone knew the names Death in June, Current 93, or Sol Invictus there was a band by the name of Changes that was formed by cousins Robert Taylor and Nicolas Tesluk.
I’m always keen on hearing more songs from Changes since the band enthralled me with their music earlier this year, and I’ve been eager to hear more songs from Andrew King since hearing his appearance on the Sol Invictus tribute.
The first song ‘Mahabharata of the Soul’ is the opening song from Changes, and it’s more or less the typical neo folk style the band is known for; fast acoustic guitars, duel vocals, outstanding lyrics, and lots of catchy parts making it my favorite song from this split.

Thus, their latest album, and the first after World Serpent's seppuku at the same time, will be warmly welcomed by those who prefer the old sound of Sol Invictus, as in a way these fourteen sad songs show the band's return to the more direct sound of early 1990s.
