He's just turned 70; his son Howard 'Butch' Kerzner is CEO of his company and his new wife, Heather (36), seems to have ensured that he remains fit and healthy following his heart attack scare 15 years ago.
Kerzner aims to have 20 in the portfolio within five years.

Why Kerzner wants to go private?: Well the most obvious reason why Sol Kerzner wants to take the company private would be to increase his family's stake and the amount of control they have in shaping the future of Kerzner International.
Presently, Sol and Butch Kerzner's combined stake in the company stands at 11% and so by leading a consortium of private equity investors, they are seeking to increase their stake in the company to around 25%.
Kerzner International is the invention and vision of Sol and Butch, without them it becomes that much more difficult for the company to continue its innovative and profitable strategies.

During 1985, Kerzner's Sun City, South Africa resort was the topic of anti-Apartheid rock album titled Sun City by a group of rock musicians calling themselves Artists United Against Apartheid.
Sol's heir, Howard (Butch) Kerzner died on 11 October 2006 when the helicopter he was travelling in crashed near Sosua, in the the Puerto Plata province of the Dominican Republic.
