As the name implies, solitary rectal ulcer syndrome is a condition in which, typically, a single ulcer occurs in the rectum — producing signs such as rectal bleeding and straining when you pass bowel movements.
Solitary rectal ulcer syndrome affects an estimated one in 100,000 people and can be recurrent.
Because solitary rectal ulcer syndrome is rare, it's best diagnosed and treated by a specialist in disorders of the colon and rectum.

 Gordon's Solitary Bee Page
By solitary we mean that a single female, after she emerges from her pupae and is mated by a male, constructs, provisions and lays an egg in each cell in a nest by herself.
In most of the solitary bees the cells are lined with wax or varnish-like waterproofing material and sometimes the tunnels of the Colletids are lined with a thin, cellophane-like material.
This is because the female makes her nest in a long hole with the cells that contain the eggs placed one after another, this means that the egg she lays first is the last bee to leave the nest next spring, and visa-versa, i.e.

PAPER 23 - THE SOLITARY MESSENGERS
Solitary Messengers are not isolated in their service; they are constantly in touch with the wealth of the intellect of all creation as they are capable of "listening in" on all the broadcasts of the realms of their sojourn.
These messengers of solitary assignment are a dependable, self-reliant, versatile, thoroughly spiritual, and broadly sympathetic group of created beings derived from the Third Source and Center; they operate by the authority of the Infinite Spirit resident on the central Isle of Paradise and as personalized on the headquarters spheres of the local universes.
Solitary Messengers are, therefore, generally used for dispatch and service in those situations where personality is essential to the achievement of the assignment, and where it is desired to avoid the loss of time which would be occasioned by the sending of any other readily available type of personal messenger.

Solitary Witch: In modern Neo-Paganism, a person who practices Witchcraft by himself or herself as opposed to being part of a group (traditionally called a Coven).
The Solitary Witch, also known as a Solitary, practices this way out of choice, out of the necessity of keeping their practices private, or having no other Witches in the area with which to practice.
Solitary Witch: Some Solitary Witches have begun to call themselves “Solitaires,” which has added a new definition to that word as they are certainly not a gem in a setting by itself, a type of North American thrush, an extinct bird related to the dodo, or a card game played by oneself.

Solitary confinement is the absolute isolation of a human being or an animal in a cell alone --- solitary confinement has been proven to cause sensory deprivation --- and sensory deprivation causes serious psychological damages, resulting in a variety of mental disorders.
The Department of Correction's own psychiatrists and psychologists; the Clinical Director of Psychiatry at the esteemed Harvard University; and even the United States Federal Courts have acknowledged and ruled that solitary confinement causes sensory deprivation, which in turn causes "substantial psychological damage." This is not a theory ---it is a fact.

Physicists Detect the Undetectable: "Baby" Solitary Waves - UB NewsCenter
Unfortunately, the magnitude of the baby solitary waves that Sen predicted was much less than one percent of the energy carried by the entire solitary wave, far below detectable experimental limits.
But the experiment conducted at Universidad de Santiago by Sen's co-authors in fact produced "baby" solitary waves that were as large as 15 or 20 per cent of the energy propagated through the entire system.
"To observe large baby solitary waves, the idea is that by introducing a large mismatch of mechanical properties at the wall, the reflected solitary wave needs to adapt more dramatically, thus producing such large baby solitary waves," explained Melo.

Regardless of whether you choose to be part of a coven or practice as a solitary, a daily spiritual practice gives foundation to both.

John Scott Russell and the solitary wave
Throughout his life Russell remained convinced that his solitary wave (the ``Wave of Translation'') was of fundamental importance, but ninteenth and early twentieth century scientists thought otherwise.
He viewed the solitary wave as a self-sufficient dynamic entity, a "thing" displaying many properties of a particle.
From the modern perspective it is used as a constructive element to formulate the complex dynamical behaviour of wave systems throughout science: from hydrodynamics to nonlinear optics, from plasmas to shock waves, from tornados to the Great Red Spot of Jupiter, from the elementary particles of matter to the elementary particles of thought.
