Solomon Airlines is the national airline of the Solomon Airlines.
The airline is an important regional airline in the Southwest Pacific (Melanesia), connecting Solomon Islands with Australia, Fiji, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea.
The airline derived its name from the birds of the megapodiidae family, large footed birds, some of which hatch their eggs by laying them in deep warm sand in some parts of the Solomons.

Solomon Airlines General Manager Joseph Anea who was there to greet the new arrival told Solomon Star that his group was very happy with the new plane.
Meanwhile, Solomon Airlines is also looking towards obtaining other modern types of technology to enhance the provision of its air service in the country.

"Last year, Qantas infuriated the airline's management by refusing to allow the leased 737 - which was painted in Solomon Airlines colors -- to fly into or out of Honiara after the Solomon Islands' coup, even when Air Niugini resumed flights.
Zoleveke has still flown to Australia to try to resolve the safety issues that led the Civil Aviation and Safety Authority to suspend Solomon Airline's air operations certificate.
