		Abstract: The Devonian Solund Basin in SW Norway is the only Old Red Sandstone basin in the Scandinavian Caledonides from which volcanic rocks have been described.
		The basin fill was derived from the depositional substrate composed of gabbro/diorite, meta-basalt, greywackes, quartzites and rhyolite derived from the west, and granitoids primarily derived from the east (Nielsen 1968).
