 TETNEY BEAM STATION
All in all the station must have been a prominent landmark and made quite an impression on the surroundings until it was finally dismantled in 1940 leaving only the buildings, some concrete blocks and squares of trees to remind us of its previous existence.
The station had a Morris van with two drivers and this was used to ferry in the staff from the Grimsby area.
Prior to the construction of the beam stations the majority of the traffic was carried by cable but within months of the opening of the beam service it had captured a large proportion of the business.

Transport plan for Melbourne northern suburbs
MELBOURNE -- A draft plan for public transport in the northern suburbs prepared by the Upgrade Upfield Coordinating Committee is a response to ``the prevailing view of both federal and state governments'', namely that it is necessary to save as much money as possible by cutting back on public services, including public transport.
All that is needed is electrification of the Broadmeadows and Upfield lines to Somerton, where they meet, and then on to nearby Craigieburn to form a loop similar to the Hornsby lines in Sydney.
It calls for the upgrading of the Upfield railway line, improving the frequency of trains and the provision of trains after 7 p.m.

LIST OF MELBOURNE BUS ROUTES FACTS AND INFORMATION
Unlike Melbourne's train and tram networks, which are operated by one company each, Melbourne's bus network is operated by many, often local, companies.
The average Melbourne bus route operates every 30-40 minutes, stops at 6.40pm weekdays (although some buses, such as route 567, operate until 9:40pm), usually operate Saturday mornings and afternoons, almost certainly does not run Sundays, and are often timetabled to leave just before potentially connecting services arrive (but this seems to be getting fixed).
All but three of these companies are fully funded subcontractors to the State Government (the exceptions being Skybus, National and Melbourne Bus Link, which derive varying proportions of their income from the fare revenue collected on board).
