		From early in the 20th century it was common practice among phonograph record labels that if any company had a record that was a significant commercial success, other record companies would have singers or musicians "cover" the tune by recording a version for their own label in hopes of cashing in on the tune's success.
		In the early days of rock and roll, many songs originally recorded by African American musicians were rerecorded by white artists, such as Pat Boone, in a more toned-down style that lacked the hard edge of rock and roll, and vice versa.
		Songs by the original artists which where then succesful are called crossovers as they "crossed over" from a fl to a white audience.

		I first heard this song a few days ago and im like “hey turn it up I like this song” and after it was over the station said it was the first time they had ever played it.
		I heard a song SIMILAR to the version made by the killers on an 80s internet radio station and when i looked it up it came up with the newly released killers version which was different slightly.
		As most of you, I also “knew” the song was a remake from an 80’s song, the first time I heard it.

		This sounds like a cub scout campout where the den mothers get together and sing songs from their cooler days.
