		The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame was established by the Nashville Songwriters Foundation, Inc. in Nashville, Tennessee in the United States.
		A non-profit organization, it declares its objective is to honor and preserve the songwriting legacy that is uniquely associated with music community in the city of Nashville.
		The Foundation's stated purpose is to educate, archive, and celebrate the contributions of the members of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame to the world of music.

	Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame
		The climax of the evening was to be the presentation of the Hall of Fame award to Leonard Cohen by former governor-general Adrienne Clarkson.
		As he told the audience at the Hall of Fame ceremony: "If I knew where the good songs came from, I would go there more often." As it is, Cohen often spends up to four years, on and off, working on a single song ("Hallelujah" being a classic example) before he deems it satisfactory.

	Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Launches

		On Thursday I had the distinct pleasure, as one of the occasional perks through my employer, to attend the show portion of the 2004 Award & Induction Ceremony at the Songwriters Hall of Fame last Thursday.
		Hall & Oates performed a rousing version of one of their first hits, She's Gone.
		Neil Sedaka received the Sammy Cahn Lifetimne Achievement Ward and his hit, Laughter in the Rain (you remember, that paen to sex on wet grass under a tree at the risk of being struck by lightning) was sung very well by Eric McCormack of Will & Grace.
