		It's kind of cool that an anime reached that level but I have to keep in mind that it didn't reach that level because it was anime, but because it was billed for the kids.
		Sonic would also spin dash his enemies, unlike the US cartoons where he would find some other way to beat the enemies like having something drop on their head or what have you.
		In Japan, or at least the anime, he did have a certain air on overconfidence and 'cool' to him but he had more of a slacker demeanor and was much more sarcastic.

		After all, the old Sonic series weren't exactly hot stuff (especially the Saturday morning series, which I refused to watch back when it was on ABC), and the OVA made seven years ago disappointed me in its short length.
		It's all humorous: all the humans keep calling Sonic a mouse, there's lots of random English flown around, and at one point, Sonic even tells the viewers not to do one of his stunts (when he's looking at the window of a F-1 race car while on top of it, followed by teasing the rider).
		Speaking of the Kirby anime, I'm puzzled as to why they call this also call this series "Sonic" X. Sonic only shows up at the beginning and ending of each episode, when Eggman's robot of the day needs to be destroyed.

		Wearing shades and red trainers might be sufficient characterisation for a simple videogame, but when Sega decided to give Sonic more than a one-word speaking role (as was the case with the Dreamcast adventure games) it became obvious that he's got less personality and charisma than Mickey the Mouse.

		This is the best Sonic animation I've seen so far, ok, there aren't no real worthy opponents on this sector, and I think every Sega!Sonic fan who has seen the US Cartoon Sonic Series would agree with me that there should roll heads for this americanised crime against Sonic.
		And Sonic Underground (I've only seen some scenes from it), although it is quite weird (and I like weird stuff ^_^) to see Sonic playing in a rock band all the time stays what it is, an US like Cartoon.
		The anime wants to show us that they both have the same speed and it neutralizes their movement, but this is more a US Cartoon element I would say.
