	Sonic Mega Collection Plus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Sonic Mega Collection Plus is a compilation of video games in the Sonic the Hedgehog series from the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and Game Gear so they can be played on the Sony PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Xbox consoles.
		This edition is an update of Sonic Mega Collection for the Nintendo GameCube, and now includes Game Gear games, two non-Sonic games that were only Japan-exclusive in the original Mega Collection, updated illustrations, a new menu interface, and a mid-game saving feature.
		The game was released on November 2, 2004 in North America, December 9, 2004 in Japan, and February 4, 2005 in Europe.

		Although, here's something: if you do fancy buying SMC Plus and you already own Sonic Heroes, it might be an idea to buy it for the same system, as the presence of Heroes save data apparently unlocks a couple of the games straight away.
		It doesn't have the loved/hated Sonic CD, which is the only one you probably don't already own (except for Sonic Drift Into A Coma), and otherwise these are pixel-perfect ports, right down to the slowdown, and are no replacement for the real thing.
		Anybody who remembers Sonic's 16-bit outings the way we do will love playing through them again and watching the series progress from its radically inventive beginnings through to the blisteringly speedy latter stages, picking up chargeable spin dash moves and layers and layers of graphical detail on the way.

		Emulating Sonic CD for Mega Collection would still be interesting, but, personally, I wouldn't buy it unless Sega promised both the American and Japanese soundtracks.
		According to Sonic Cult the reason there was no Sonic CD on Sonic Mega Collection was because Sega couldn't emulate the sound and didn't have enough time to get it working properly so Sonic CD was taken out of the game.
		Sonic Mega Collection uses a Genesis emulator and we have yet to see a fully-functional Saturn emulator in either the Emulation or Commercial fields.
