Soong sold her (An island in southeastern New York; Brooklyn and Queens are on its western end) Long Island estate in 2000 and spent the rest of her life in her Gracie Square apartment surrounded only by fl-suited bodyguards who cleared the lobby as she passed.
Soong died in her (One of the five boroughs of New York City) Manhattan apartment in 2003 at the age of 105 or 106.
