Sophie Wilson, formerly Roger Wilson, is a British computer scientist.
In 1981, Wilson extended the Acorn Atom's BASIC programming language dialect into an improved version for the Acorn Proton, a microcomputer that enabled Acorn to win the contract with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for their ambitious computer education project, whereupon the Proton was renamed the BBC Micro and its BASIC became BBC BASIC.
Wilson is a member of the board of the game development company Eidos Interactive.

A Movie Parable: Alex & Emma
Wilson plays the central figure: a young writer who falls in love with a sexy and beautiful French woman of means (Sophie Marceau, Lost and Found) whose children he is tutoring.
Wilson is goofily charming, although his many character flaws (he's a compulsive gambler, a recalcitrant liar, and a hypochondriac) come and go with little continuity.
Hudson is once again adorable and while she'll never be mistaken for having the chameleon-like linguistic skills of a Meryl Streep, her exaggerated dialects are amusing and brief enough not to become tiresome.

The Cuban mafia is on writer Alex Sheldon's (Luke Wilson) back for its money and to pay them he has thirty days to finish his yet-to-be-started novel.
Luke Wilson is funny, charming, and appealing here, proving that he can be a classic romantic leading man. He's even willing to make a fool of himself "flamenco dancing." (Don't ask.) Kate Hudson is also solid, intelligent, and carries off the accents of her characters in the novel with surprising skill.
Wilson and Hudson make their connection equal parts attraction and eccentricity.

Alex & Emma Movie Review - Alex & Emma Movie Trailer - The Boston Globe
To be fair, Wilson is playing a Boston writer (the eponymous Alex) and she's his stenographer (the titular Emma, from Jamaica Plain).
Set in the sunny 1920s, it's a ''Gatsby''-seeming love story with Wilson as the hero, Sophie Marceau as a scheming French lady, David Paymer as her rich American husband, and Hudson playing a housekeeper whose nationality changes with Alex's whims.
Wilson, meanwhile, is about as exciting as a door -- but doors, at least, do open.

It’s about a scruffy novelist (Luke Wilson) who falls for the perky stenographer (Kate Hudson) he hires to take dictation of a book he has to finish under deadline; of course, she falls for him, too.
The “hook” that takes the movie beyond sitcom length (and the deadening reality of two people sitting around and talking for ninety minutes) is that the pair periodically play the characters in the 1924 plot he’s composing--a private tutor and an au pair girl who are also destined to link up.
Reiner sleepwalks through things; David Paymer and Sophie Marceau overdo the caricatures as Adam’s employer Polina and her smarmy beau John in the 1924 scenes; and Cloris Leachman turns up for an alarmingly over-the-top cameo as Polina’s grandmother.
