Rangers have been warned that Bolton are waiting in the wings in case the Sotirios Kyrgiakos transfer collapses.
The 25-year-old Kyrgiakos is on Confederations Cup duty with his country while Rangers continue negotiations.
Kyrgiakos had arrived at Ibrox as a replacement for Jean-Alain Boumsong after the Frenchman was sold to Newcastle United for £8m in January.

SOTIRIOS KYRGIAKOS first joined Rangers from Panathinaikos during the January transfer window of 2005, then returned to the club in late August 2005 after initially turning down a contract offer in the summer.
Soto, as he is known, forged a cast iron partnership with Marvin Andrews at the heart of Alex McLeish's back line last term and made himself a real hero with the fans when he scored a double in March 2005's CIS Cup Final thrashing of Motherwell at Hampden.
Kyrgiakos also qualified for an SPL winners' medal having started every game at the back end of the 2004/05 campaign.

if kyrgiakos is more mobile than dellas dellas must be really slow cos kyrgiakos is pretty slow so could be a problem if the 2 of them are slow but hopefully not hopefully they will be like a brick wall..
