		Soulwax returned after a lengthy hiatus with the album Any Minute Now, an indie album with heavy dance influences which gave bad writers an excuse to use cringe-worthy buzz words; Any Minute Now was "heavy" "dark" and my favourite "edgy".
		Arriving on stage at midnight Soulwax were all dressed in white (like a vision from the future?) in dressed down trainers and tees (tennis players thrown back form the 1970s?) Singer Stephen wedged himself between the pristine white laptop that occupied centre stage and a retro style microphone.
		Soulwax were definitely in ship shape order showing that as a band they have alot to offer, not only to the Indie/Alternative scene but also the electro scene too.

		Adventurous Belgian rock-band formed by the Dewaele-brothers, who rose to the scene with music in the tradition of Soundgarden, the Black Crowes and Pearl Jam, later throwing in lots of Prince, Beck, and corny 80's kitsch into their mix.
		Prior to the release of the album, a single "My cruel joke" was released in June, with a large part of the vocals on the song performed by the American singer Traci Bonham.

		The first disc does start out with the Soulwax edit of David Bowie Rebel, Rebel (and for some reason they chose the 7 inch mix to edit) before leading right into Soulwax remixing themselves on the E Talking track from their Any Minute Now album.
		Some songs on 50,000,000 Soulwax Fans tend to be longer than on earlier Soulwax compilations (at least until disc two) which could lead to some boredom on the part of their ADD audience.

		When the comicbookishly dark holds on "Slowdance" give out for the bridge, those sixteenths on the high hat effect a lot on their own; "I Love Techno" benefits from heavy-handed drum pounds that hold back the song's twitter and Blondie bassline; the legendary "NY Lipps" mash between "NY Excuse" and "Funky Town" speaks for itself.
		These are simple tracks, sure, confident enough to lay their soundmakers bare (and vice versa), but such staunch anti-pussyfooting/anti-mysticism makes Soulwax a bit more democratic, palpable too.
