For the North Spirit, the sound was best close to the middle or 12 o’clock position, while the Total Eclipse preferred only a slight turn to the right, or about 11.
The TA-30 is surprisingly gutsy for a 30Wpc tube amp, and in concert with the North Spirit mini-monitors, exhibited remarkable articulation and speed.

Its trailblazing 64-voice polyphony was also impressive, while its introduction of quality sample-based sounds, sonic programmability and a multitrack onboard sequencer put it more on par with the synth workstation that any previous keyboard.
The speakers produce a sound which is crisp, spacious, well detailed and well balanced, and they’re able to handle high amplification levels without breaking into a sweat.
While synth manufacturers have been busy rediscovering the value of plenty of front-panel knobs and sliders for sound editing, keyboard manufacturers have never given up their own version of the controller-rich front panel, which typically entails providing real-time control over auto-accompaniment features.

In a "real" cinema, half the fun with some films is not just what you see in front, but the sounds that happen at the back: the creaking door, the gunshot, the approaching helicopters.
A lot of other companies have tried, but KEF seems to be the first to have worked out how to throw sound so that it really seems to come from behind you even though the two speakers are actually next to the TV.

The results are intriguing, both for their certainty in choosing intense personal films as the best, and for their lack of agreement about which films of recent times can compete with the greatest.

These days we are apt to dismiss David Cassidy and the Partridge Family as hopelessly dated bubblegum pap, but we must not forget that they had some excellent songwriters and top-notch studio musicians (such as Hal Blaine) working on these albums, and that Cassidy really could sing.
"Sound Magazine"is surely the best all-around of the Partridge Family albums (which, for those who don't know, really only featured David C. and had nobody else from the T.V. show on them, except maybe Shirley Jones doing some oohs and aahs in the background.) The songs here are uniformly catchy and the arrangements are professional.
But 30 years down the line, give "Sound Magazine" a listen and you'll hear some of the finest pop recordings of the 20th century sung by one of the most affable pop vocalists of the rock era.
