		Soup comes through with an album that has no filler material and is full of honest lyrics that help bring the listener into his world and truly know the man behind the mic.
		Soup has never compromised the art and for that reason alone his is a legend in the purist form.

		Soup is the second album by the band Blind Melon.
		Though considered by some to be one of the band's best albums, it was poorly received due to poor exposure, bad critical reviews, and Shannon Hoon's death at around the same time as the album's release.
		However, there is some hope shining though the darkness in the album's subject matter, like in "New Life", shows Hoon hoping that the birth of his baby daughter, Nico Blue, will put his life back on track.

		There is truly not a bad track on the first album and it remains one of my favorites but this album is better and I expect years from now it will be recognized as one of the seminal works of the 90's and the album for which Shannon Hoon will be forever revered.
		This was only their 2nd album written and you can already see them expanding their sound and still trying to find themselves individually and as a band.
		As for the album itself it is much, much to darker than their self titled and couldn't have possibly seen equal success.

		I say Suprisinglg because before i got this album i had never listened to a bowling for soup album but got this based on 3 of there previous songs 'girl all the bad guys want'(not in this album) 'almost' and '1985'.
		But After listening to this album once i realised that BFS were just a comedy band with some really good songs such as 'Ohio', 'sut up and smile', 'Friends of mine' and 'my hometown' as well as the 'almost' and '1985'.
		This is a long album too and most records of this size are packed with second rate filler songs.
