There is a Central Line depot associated with the station, and a link to the Metropolitan Line (just to the west of [Ruislip].
It lies on the Central Line, between West Ruislip and South Ruislip, in Zone 5.

South Ruislip tube is 100 yards away and the 114 bus runs from Victoria Road which may be found by turning left out of the pub, and running left to right at the traffic lights.
"Station Approach" runs between West End Road and, more or less, the traffic lights at Victoria Road, South Ruislip (by Sainsburys), where this pub is at the Victoria Road end.
If you can find the tube station this pub is just the other side of the (low) railway bridge.

 South Ruislip tube station
Opened in May 1908 and originally known as Northolt Junction, the station became South Ruislip and Northolt Junction from September 1932 and received its present name in July 1942.
South Ruislip is a London Underground and Chiltern Railways joint station.
The track alignments were improved to allow higher speed running at the junction for the services from Marylebone, and the pointwork which had allowed trains from Paddington to call at the westbound Chiltern station platform was removed.

The Northern Line curves through it and we have four stations: Woodside Park station which is North Finchley; West Finchley station which is North-West geographically; Finchley Central station (as immortalized by the New Vaudeville Band) which is in the West; and East Finchley station which is in the south.
As it turned out the day did not bring me the news I wanted - that we had exchanged contracts on our new house - but I did find two extra bars in the Cadbury's dispensing machine and I found a shilling on the floor of Vauxhall tube station.

South Harrow station is not particularly high, perched as it is on the lower slopes of Harrow Hill, but the line at this point is high above the street and the land slopes downward to Rayners Lane quite sharply.

Now, for those of you unfamiliar with the Piccadilly, Northfields is a nondescript station on the Heathrow branch, important only in that it it is one of the main depots for the line and is equipped with double platforms and sidings.
