		The STAR (South Tampa Area Reclaimed) project distributes highly treated wastewater from the Howard F. Curren Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant on Hooker's Point to residents and businesses in parts of South Tampa where it can be used to irrigate lawns and landscaping.
		STAR water project is among the first reclaimed water projects to be driven by a need to conserve drinking water rather than a need to dispose of wastewater.
		The STAR water project was initiated in response to the 2000 drought.
