William Paul, a native of Pennsylvania, and Hannah Slack, a native of New Jersey, were married in the beginning of the present century, and settled in Amwell township, Washington Co., Pa. They had twelve children, all of whom grew to manhood and womanhood and married.
William Davis was born in West Bethlehem township, Washington Co., Pa., Oct. 6, 1810, and is the son of Joshua and Mary Davis.

Montgomery County: Cheltenham Township, yard-waste-collection truck, chipper and loader, $159,120; Lower Merion Township, recycling-collection trucks, $167,400; Lower Moreland Township, leaf-collection equipment, $28,435; Upper Merion Township, recycling education, $3,089; and Upper Moreland Township, recycling-collection truck and leaf collector, $114,271.

Upper Uwchlan, Uwchlan and West Bradford townships, along with eight other Chester County municipalities, are participating in the Chester County Solid Waste Authority's "Processing and Marketing Contract." The contract enables the municipalities to be paid for the recyclable materials collected from their residents, based on an index of current recycled commodity prices.
Pennsylvania's recycling efforts also save energy, reduce air and water pollution, and limit the need for virgin materials in manufacturing.
For example, recycling in Pennsylvania reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 2.1 million metric tons of carbon equivalents per year, which is equal to 6 percent of all industrial carbon equivalent emissions from fossil fuel combustion in the state and 2.6 percent of greenhouse gas emissions, such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxides and other emissions.

Strabane Township was established on March 28, 1781, the 12th of 13 original townships in Washington County.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania purchased 503 acres of his land in 1871 to establish a home for the wayward.
A number of roads in the Township are named for the early residents of those areas, including Fulton, Devore, Linnwood, Johnson, Munce, Patterson, Brehm, McBride, Galley, Christy, Chubbic and Gilkeson.

Personnel from Pennsylvania's Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Bureau of Deep Mine Safety have responded to a fire at Eighty-Four Mining Co.'s Mine No. 84 in South Strabane Township, Washington County.
The mine was evacuated Jan 6 after a fire broke out in part of the coal conveyor belt, causing one of the carbon monoxide detectors to sound.
The fire broke out in a section of the mine that is under Amwell Township, about three miles from the main entrance of the mine.

The Township may not be aware of a recent change in the state motor vehicle code that requires all ATVs to be registered and to display a registration plate.
The Township would be well advised to investigate the expense off implementing a registration program prior to requiring one by law.

Municipalities involved in the project are North and South Strabane Township, McDonald Borough, East Washington Borough and the City of Washington.

It happened, at the split between I-70 and I-79 in Washington County, Pennsylvania.
The Lakeview Drive bridge is in South Strabane Township between the two points where the interstates intersect.
