Southwest Baptist University, which is affiliated with the Missouri Baptist Convention, is not among five state convention agencies that declared self-perpetuating boards to avoid takeover by fundamentalists who now control the historic state convention.
Southwest Baptist University will give Neely a year's salary and benefits as a severance package and may allow him to teach if he chooses.

The physical therapy requirements for physical therapy master’s programs vary, but the advisor can assist in the selection of courses that meet the requirements of a specific school or in the selection of courses that meet a composite list of requirements derived from reviewing the requirements of 48 different schools.

Scott Langston, an associate dean and professor of biblical studies at Southwest Baptist University, shared his views following an April 19 meeting of moderate Missouri Baptists who are forming a new convention.
Langston, who was only identified as a Bible professor at a Missouri college, noted that he attended the meeting as an individual, not as a representative of Southwest Baptist University.
