	Southwest Conference - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		The Southwest Conference became an official body on December 8, 1914 at a formal meeting at the Rice Hotel in Houston.
		In 1940, an agreement was reached that the winner of the conference football title would play in the Cotton Bowl, which further established the prestige of both the bowl and the conference.
		As a result, the conference's market share in television coverage dwindled, and the disbandment of the SWC became inevitable after Arkansas left for the Southeastern Conference in 1992.

		The annual conferences were attended by foundation donors and their families, trustees, persons who were considering establishing foundations, bank trust officers, and executives of the few staffed foundations.
		The conference was incorporated in the state of Texas in October 1975, and a 501(c)(3) exemption was granted by the Internal Revenue Service in January 1976.
		Although the Conference of Southwest Foundations was the first, and for many years the only, organization of its kind, gradually groups of foundations and grantmakers began to be formed throughout the country in other regions, states, and metropolitan areas.

	Southwest Conference on Disability, Hotel Information
		The 2005 Southwest Conference on Disability will be held at the Albuquerque Convention Center connected by an indoor walkway to the conference hotel, the Doubletree Hotel, 201 Marquette Ave.
		Because hotel space during the International Balloon Fiesta is at a premium, conference participants staying over the weekend for the Fiesta should make their reservations well before the deadline.

		The Conference of Southwest Foundations had its genesis in 1949 as a meeting among a small group of foundations hosted by The Hogg Foundation.
		With the maturation and growing professionalization of foundations in the region, close to 50% of the conference's participants are foundation staff, although donors or donor family (some in the third generation now) still represent the greatest percentage of active participants.

		LAWRENCE -- While 150 participants in the Kansas Economic Policy conference gathered in Lawrence Oct. 24 to address state water issues, 15 southwest Kansas residents attended the same conference in Ulysses.

		SANTA BARBARA, CA (May 12, 2000) - The Pacific Southwest Conference (PSWC) office is scheduled to relocate to a northern California site, it was announced during the conference annual meeting at Montecito Covenant Church.
		Theme of the conference was Catch the Next Wave, although the PSWC seems to have already done more than its share of "surfing for souls" in recent years.
		Notehelfer served 13 years as superintendent, helping the conference grow to 109 churches and nearly double its church attendance.
