  Ambasador Soval
Soval continued his criticism of Enterprise's mission, particularly after the crew, along with a group of Andorian commandos led by Commander Shran, discovered a listening post beneath the Vulcan sanctuary of P'Jem which was being used to spy on the Andorians.
Soval was markedly skeptical of this claim, and personally attempted to discourage Enterprise from entering The Delphic Expanse, the mysterious region of space the Xindi call home.
Soval came to appreciate Archer's efforts in saving Earth, and his attitude towards humans warmed considerably after the man in charge of Starfleet Command, Admiral Forrest, sacrificed his own life to save the Ambassador's during a bombing inside the Earth Embassy on Vulcan (see the episode entitled "The Forge" for more).

Soval was born on the Ides of March in 2279, the second son of a pair of traditional Vulcan parents.
An intelligent child with a normal upbringing, Soval excelled in his studies at the Vulcan Institute of Science and upon graduation, seeing Vulcan growing more and more prominent in the galaxy, he felt the next logical step in his education would be to enlist in the Vulcan Institute of Defensive Arts.

Soval confesses that the Vulcans don't quite know what to make of humans, saying they have the arrogance of Andorians and stubborn pride of Tellarites." Humans can be as ruled by emotions as Klingons, then suddenly embrace logic.
At first Soval declines, stating that no one would be willing to sacrifice their position by letting it be known that they could mind meld.
Soval's emergence from the dark side, however, was quite puzzling to me. For him to be a closet Syrrannite seems unlikely based on his past behavior, but it was probably necessary for the episode to work.

While Archer is gone, Soval makes yet another attempt to bolster T’Pol’sVulcanness,” chiding her for having picked up a “human accent” and belittling her for her career choice by saying that if she had remained at the Vulcan embassy in San Francisco, she’d be much better off by now.
Soval acknowledges this with an act of high Vulcan praise: he tells Archer that his presence was “not unduly troublesome.”  After the Vulcans depart, Shran amiably observes, “I think he’s actually beginning to like you, pink-skin.”
