This was the first book I ever read on the Winter War, and as a 14 year old it was a gripping read then.
Having visited some of the battlefields of this war, it also fails to convey in the reader the conditions faced and seems almost to have sanitised the whole conflict.
There are much better books on the Winter war available, but sadly the best are not available in English.
