Strange Space Metal Found On Farm - Billions Of Years Old
Scientists are working to unlock the secrets of a billions-of-years-old chunk of space metal found in a Hagersville farmer's field.
Most of the 10,000 tonnes of debris regularly floating in space either burns up during its fiery passage through the atmosphere or falls into the Earth's oceans to lie forever undisturbed.
Meteorites, on the other hand, are metallic fragments that do survive entry and then literally fall to earth.

Arjen Anthony Lucassen's Star One - "Space Metal"
Space Metal is like the heavier end of Ayreon-Flight of the Migrator comes to mind-but if you're not familiar with Mr.
Unlike most of the other songs on Space Metal, this song isn't based on a movie, instead this song is based on the British sci-fi TV series Blake's Seven.
Space Metal also is heavily reminiscent of Ayreon's 1998 release, Into the Electric Castle.

Space Age Metal: New Titanium Alloys Near 'Magic' Strength Threshold
Every time an astronaut gets off the ground, he or she owes a debt to the Wright brothers, not just because the boys dared to fly, but because they were smart enough to use a newfangled aluminum alloy to lighten the load of their engine and make flight possible.
Alloys of myriad mixings are used in various parts on satellites, deep space probes and the shuttle fleet.
The new alloys could be particularly suitable for ultralightweight springs, as one example, or other "precision instruments for use in rugged environments such as in outer space," the researchers report.

 AFC's Dielectric Radome Advantages
With a need for pressurization, a metal space frame radome relies on prime power to energize the blower equipment to survive maximum wind loads.
In addition, since metal space frame radomes require a metal base ring for structural support, a dissimilar metal problem exists between the base framework panels and the base ring.
In contrast to a metal space frame radome, no foundation survey, template preparation and accurate anchor bolt insertion into the wet foundation or compression base ring interface need be scheduled or timing anticipated.

With High Moon we stay in the metal regions, in fact I was promised that this would be a very metal oriented album, and we do with this plodding heavy track.
Spaced Out is one of the leftovers from the Space Metal sessions.
One might say with Lucassen's love of everything in space (I wonder what he would do if he had enough money to buy a trip outside the atmosphere?) this ought to be an anthem for him.

Beryllium: From Emerald to Space Age Metal by GP Verma
Being one of the lightest metals, beryllium at the same time is remarkable strong, stronger than structural steels.
Parts made from beryllium are capable of maintaining high precision and stability of dimension and are used in gyroscopic instruments of orientation and stabilization systems installed on rockets space, crafts and artificial earth satellite.
Beryllium is very promising in space engineering as, while burning it releases colossal amounts of heat approximately 15000 kcal per kg, Thus, it can be used in highly efficient propellants for flight to the Moon and other cloistral bodies.

The sound of Space Metal is very much like the heavier end of Ayreon--Flight of the Migrator comes to mind--but if you're not familiar with Ayreon, Space Metal's sound falls somewhere along the lines of Rainbow (riffs), Pink Floyd (space rock) and ELP (bombast).
This is my favorite song on Space Metal and it reminds me of the Ayreon songs "Across the Rainbow Bridge" "Isis and Osiris", and "The Garden of Emotions"(all from Into the Electric Castle).
Space Metal is also heavily reminiscent of Ayreon's 1998 release Into the Electric Castle because of the many lead singers in each song.

Not satisfied with their position atop metal's hierarchy, it seems Opeth's members decided they'd like to brand themselves as the world's best progressive rockers.

UFO was a transitional band between the rock of Led Zeppelin and the metal to come in the NWOBHM.
UFO's influence was strongly felt in the '80s metal scene and they have been cited as a primary influence by Kirk Hammett of Metallica and Dave Mustaine of Megadeth among others.
UFO's early work was influenced by the space rock sound (their second album was subtitled "One Hour Space Rock") that was modestly popular at the time but the band realized the style was somewhat limited.

 HOT NEW AOR/PROG/HARDROCK/METAL REVIEWS
This band is playing pure European Power Metal, but there are also a bunch of melodic metal songs on their third CD 'Snakes and ladders'.
The beginning of the CD offers a lot of fast uptempo power metal pieces that will be loved by the fans of the genre, but not appreciated by someone who wants to hear some variety in the songs.
The Power Metal can be heard on the first track "Destiny dancer", while the rest is less heavy and more pure 80s melodic metal (such as the songs "Bed of pain", "Desolate heart" and the MAIDEN/PRETTY MAIDS orientated "Hands on the white").

Sound Space: Science Fiction Audio Reviews
Space Metal, a fresh concept album from hard-rock artist Arjen Anthony Lucassen, is therefore a welcome aberration, since many of the tunes are directly inspired by well-known SF movies and, in at least one case, a famed British TV series.
As the name implies, Space Metal fuses some of the finest facets of heavy metal—in addition to a few of its excesses—with a bevy of creative narratives fueled by the best science-fiction films, offering a sometimes trite but invariably exhilarating harmonic journey to far-flung destinations that, as the liner notes attest, "seem strangely familiar."
Still, Space Metal remains, for the most part, fulfilling and fun, forming memorable "sonic space movies" that are truly innovative and entertaining.

Continuing with the tradition of the Ayreon albums, 'Space Metal' is very much a concept album, but the difference is that it is not a continuous story or a rock opera.
So good luck to all you space movie fans trying to figure out what is going on with the lyrics.
Hawkwind are of course the inventors of Space Rock and since there is a great Hawkwind medley in the special edition version of the album, it was only appropriate to ask Dave Brock to contribute the vocals.
