Reruns of The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine are aired regularly on Spike TV in the United States, while TOS, TNG, and Voyager air daily in Canada on Space: The Imagination Station, which has also purchased Enterprise for daily rebroadcasts starting in the fall of 2005.
Star Trek: The Next Generation was the highest rated of all the Star Trek series, and was the number one syndicated show during the last few years of its original run.
Star Trek: Phase II was set to air in 1978 as the flagship series of a proposed Paramount television network, and 12 episode scripts were written before production was due to begin.

Star Trek - Deep Space Nine
STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE flopped in the first season and except for a few good episodes was not worth watching for the whole seven seasons Fortunately for voyager it is ending next season and maybe it has time to redeem that episode.
New space ship, Worf, the Dominion etc. Of course all of this was to regain the lost STNG audience they lost when they went to a drab space station with bad actors who argued all the time.
Star Trek isn't supposed to be a three-year war story, but that's pretty much what they made the second half of the series into.

And if the skeleton of the newborn television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine were to resemble the space station itself, there is no doubt that Ops, the station's nerve center, could be represented in those first critical days only by co-creators Rick Berman and Michael Piller.
If, from the corner of your eye, you saw the station very small on a video screen across the living room, you were to know instantly that it was Star Trek: Deep Space 9 that was about to happen.
Tartikoff had mentioned the possibility of the new show being a kind of Rifleman in space -- the concept being that if Star Trek was originally conceived of as a Wagon Train to the stars, then the new show would be The Rifleman, a man and his son living together in a frontier town.

LGBT characters in the Star Trek universe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The last season of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1999) had an episode titled "Field of Fire" in which Dax, now in the body of a new female host, has to track down a Vulcan murderer on the space station.
In Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993–1999) all the major characters were officially heterosexual, but fans debated what was the unofficial sexual orientation of three characters based on story-lines, portrayals, and dialogue in certain episodes.
As was the case with the Star Trek The Next Generation episode titled "The Outcast" (1992), the "alternative" sexual orientation is brought onto the Enterprise (as we all know that all humans are heterosexual in the franchise) by a new alien race (never to be seen again).
