Strange as it may be, some of the enemy team (typically the offensive players) seem to be bent with single minded focus on stealing your team's flag.
In team fortress, when you are acting as a team member, every action you take during the game should be understandable in one of these two categories.
If you're playing a spy please don't spam the screen with self-congratulations about knife murdering some poor schmuck in the flag hole until after you have either run the flag home or reported back to your team the placement of sentries and general defensive posture of the enemy base.

Team Fortress Classic isn’t as much based on “How many frags you can accumulate” but rather on the art and freedom of exploring the maps for secrets, untouchable Sentry Gun placements, sniping positions, and even glitches.
Team Fortress Classic will always be the most memorable modification for me, because of its warm and welcoming community.

Mind you on dustbowl you have to watch out for the idiot Demo on the blue team spamming their own team from the blue side.
But because my primary weapon is the grenades I am often flamed for spam; May I point out that the calculated and timed use of a primed grenade cannot be defined as spam, because I am throwing it where I want it to go and am expecting a kill, not hoping for one.

The command for the team chat macro is "say_team".
Saying something once should be enough; if you abuse the communications feature by rapid-firing too many messages in a short period of time, you'll auotmatically be banned from communicating for a few seconds, depending on the server your on.

This will not work if team damage is set to on in the server configurtion, of course.
