Spanish Lookout is also the home of Western Farms -- which may be the only commercial dairy here.
Oh, there are two Spanish Lookouts here -- one on the cayes that probably actually was a lookout for the Spanish when they were trying to invade in the late 1700's.

The last time we visited Spanish Lookout on April fourth, engineers had just completed drilling on the well known as Mike Usher #4.
In other news, this week, BNE will propose to government that it build a pipeline system to take oil and gas from all wells in Spanish Lookout to a central tank facility in South Iguana Creek.
This will eliminate the fumes associated with the flaring in Spanish Lookout and reduce the tanker traffic in the area.

Under the guise of so-called "education" and "conservation", Spanish Bay Resort and the Hugh Parkey Foundation (HPF) won government approval to sell 'interactive' dolphin swims despite intense opposition from local citizens, environmentalists and the Belize Audubon Society.
Spanish Bay Resort opened the new dolphin park today after a thirty day quarantine by the Belize Agricultural Health Authority.

After spudding a well on its Spanish Lookout concession in May 2005, BNE became the first company to find a commercial oil field in Belize in the country's 50-year exploration history.

According to police, when the body was retrieved from the Haulover the hands were bound by the wrists with a rope tied to two concrete blocks.
Suspicions are that the persons involved in Sarraj's death are familiar with the Spanish Lookout area, and that they entered the area through Bullet Tree Falls, since the Iguana Creek Bridge at Blackman Eddy and the ferry at Central Farm were closed due to flooding.
Sarraj's remains were placed in a casket, built in Spanish Lookout, and transported to an unknown location for burial.

Caryn, Brian and I arrived at our camp on Spanish Lookout Caye on Tuesday January 28th.
All our bread has to be cooked from scratch, beans soaked and stewed (not from a can!), the drinking water filtered, and the water pumped for the showers and toilets.
One night last week the wind died and our mosquito coil burnt out, two unfortunate incidences, which when combined resulted in the entire population of Spanish Lookout Caye's sand flies feasting upon my exposed skin.
