The Super Mario Brothers Monster Compendium -- Sparky   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-12)
In the wild, Sparkies tend to live in firey, volcanic areas, where they are well-adapted to the climite.
When tamed, Sparkies can easily be trained to defend certain areas, and they are able to "hang on" to walls and ceilings.
Sparky first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 2 as "Spark" These monsters were quite different from the creatures we see today, which leads to some question over whether or not they are indeed the same species.

No, the simple Nintendo fan fact is: anyone who doesn't recognize that a) Nintendo's games are the best, b) a gaming dryspell is a perfect time to re-explore the classics, and c) console bigamy is a cardinal sin, deserves to be shot.
Also, as a general statement, one of the reasons that Nintendo fans are so zealous in their defense of Nintendo is that we are often forced into the position of having to do so on numerous occasions.
We have to constantly defend Nintendo from a barage of comments like "nintendo is 4 kidz lolz" and other insults that are as wide in scope and topic as they are in their stupidity.

Nintendo, if you're reading this: let us swipe left and right, diagonally, up and down, stab forward, and perform the downward slam move by physically motioning the wiimote downwards.
But if Nintendo is serious about Zelda being Wii's big selling point for the "core gamer," it's time it realized that there's a difference between a kid who is playing a Zelda game for the first time and a veteran gamer returning to his long-time love.
