I recently traveled to San Jose to attend the 2003 Silicon Valley Bowl held at Spartan Stadium and I was fairly impressed with condition of the stadium.
Also, during the bowl game, the CHP closed off the side road going along the north side of the stadium because of all of the foot traffic so be prepared to have to go the long way to get around the stadium.
