		Sparty is featured with a birthday cake announcing the university’s sesquicentennial in a corn maze at Westview Orchards and Cider Mill, a family-owned farm market near Romeo, Mich.
		In addition to the Sparty corn maze, Westview Orchards and Cider Mill offers plenty of other activities for families, including wagon and pony rides, a petting farm, live family entertainment shows, a kitchen bakery and U-pick apples and pumpkins.

		MSU’s mascot Sparty claimed the title of National Mascot Champion for the third time in four years on Jan. 12 at the Universal Cheer Association’s National Championships at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. Sparty is the only Big Ten mascot to have ever claimed the title with back-to-back wins in 2004 and 2005.
		Sparty’s skit counted for half of his overall score with the other half of his score coming from an entry video submitted in November, entitled “Sparty’s Center.” Sparty entered the competition ranked second behind University of Minnesota’s Goldy Gopher.
		The Sparty Mascot Program is also looking for the next MSU student to be Sparty for the upcoming school year.
