The main weapon is of course a class 10 autocannon which gives the Spatha the heavy ranged weapon that can cause damage at medium range.
To back up the autocannon the Spatha mounts a pair of machine guns, one on the turret and one on the front, a very classic arrangement for tanks.

Usually a longer version of the shorter, leaf-shaped gladius, the spatha is over 2 feet long, seldom reaching a full yard.
Employed by both Roman cavalrymen and their German enemies, later Lombard spathae were actually more advanced than the iron cast gladii, being constructed from a crude, albeit effective, steel-like alloy.

We learn from literary sources that in the time of Claudius the auxiliaries carried a sword, known as the spatha, which differed from the sword of the legionaries.
The contrast between the weapons of the legionary and of the auxiliary—the gladius and pilum in the one case, and the spatha and hasta in the other—is strikingly brought out in a passage of Tacitus, in which he describes the defeat of Caratacus by Ostorius Scapula.[1]
The long narrow blade of the spatha is closely akin to the Celtic swords of La Tène.

It is also interesting to note that the Pompeian-pattern gladius appears to have had an early association with the gladiators, so the style may have been adopted by the Roman army after it was "tested" in the arenas.
The rise of the spatha as an infantry weapon reflects a dawning realization that in sword fights the longer sword has an advantage, plus a new emphasis on the role of cavalry in warfare.

Granted the balance and handling of Viking-style swords was superior to that of the spatha, but that was a very gradual development.
The spearmen are then able to keep the cavalry at bay, while the rear ranks proceed to pelt them with missiles - the old heavy pila would lack the range to clear the spearmen in front, but lighter pila or javelins, or later plumbata, would do the job admirably.
In time, of course, the numbers of spearmen are increased as the Roman cavalry themselves become the 'offensive' arm on the battlefield, the infantry acting only to block the opposing horsemen.

The latter reads: "Amaryllis spatha multiflora, corollis campanulatis aequalibus, genitalibus declinatis" and there are two points in it which are not in keeping with Hippeastrum equestre.
The first is "spatha multiflora," which is scarcely descriptive of a plant 2-4 flowers, even if used as a contrast to species "spatha uniflora".
Miller stated that the plant was well known in [Italian] gardens as the Belladonna lily, and that it had been identified by Sir Hans Sloane with a plant which he had obtained in Barbados and which he had called Lilio-narcissus polyanthos, flore incarnato, fundo ex luteo albescente (Sloane, Cat.

When kits like the Konigseder (sp?) kit for the MK IV Golf came out, it looked a bit tacked on, but people blended it and tried different things.
