		SPAWN's visual effects range from the wildly original to the mundane and cliche--from the highly photorealistic to the almost laughably fake.
		Spawn's red, flowing cape was handled by ILM in many shots, as well as all of Violator's sequences and some of Spawn's transformations, as well.

		In the 1997 film, Spawn is now a superhero in the vein of Batman, who looks like a meatball, and wears a live suit that he rarely uses in battle until it’s convenient to the special effects.
		Spawn is no longer a torture soul, but a young man who spouts action one-liners, and prefers to work with a shit load of guns instead of remembering that he was told frequently that his suit can do anything it wants, heal him, and mold to his hearts content to fight evil!

		Spawn is based on one of the most popular comics in America (and comics are hot property for turning in to movies these days).
		The fight scenes are fast and furious but the pace of the film is all wrong, lurching from fights and chases to explanations to unsubtle happy-family scenes with wide-eyed children and dogs to remind us that all this violence isn’t just for the hell of it (so to speak).
		The film doesn’t flow, the actors don’t set you on fire and the whole thing is just too true to its comic book roots.

		Spawn should still look like Spawn with all the capes and chains and stuff, and the Violator could be turned into a really scary character.
		The first Spawn was not that bad as a movie but it had nothing to do with the comic book.
		And SPAWN PG-13 not rated R or NC-17 the comic was gorey and had nudity if you been buying the comic for all these years and then saw the movie big letdown.
