The Bangor University research vessel Prince Madog was also used for some of the trials to tow a silver 'torpedo' sidescan designed to create fan depth sounding, giving a 3-D impression of the sea floor, and a video device which travelled across the sea floor relaying images back to the ship.
The monitoring is crucial if the area is to be conserved and managed effectively for future generations to enjoy.
