Special Forces Tab   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-26)
The Special Forces Tab is a decoration of the United States Army which is awarded to any service member who completes the Special Forces Qualification Course, or the Special Forces Officer Course, at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
The Special Forces Tab was first created in 1983 and consists of an embroidered patch which is worn on the upper left sleeve of a military uniform.
Prior to the creation of the Special Forces Tab, special forces status was indicated by the wear of a full-size flash on the green beret, whereas other personnel assigned to a special forces unit wore a 1/4" high bar instead.
