Lee was developing this series before the movie came out though, and it took the success of the movie to get the ball rolling on it.) Peter Parker (voiced by Neil Patrick Harris) has gotten comfortable with being Spider-Man, but he now has to make adjustments in his real life.
Even though I love movie adaptations of comic books, the animated series’ that are based on comic books tend to leave me flat most of the time.

The X-Men later made some guest appearances on "Spider-Man", which had a lot of promise and brighter animation but ultimately squandered its potential.
Certainly superior to the new "X-Men Evolution" or whatever the hell that crap is on the WB that's simply capitalizing on the success of the new X-Men films.

I think the writing on the new Spider-Man animated series from Columbia/Sony was the best writing out of any Spider-Man animated series.
P.S. that 1960s Spider-Man song was even featured in two episodes of season 3 of Coupling.
Regardless,the series was actually pretty fun(some episodes,even psychodelic) and,hands downs,captures the Stan Lee/Steve Ditko feel of the comic.
