Proper spindle morphogenesis ensures the equal segregation of mitotic chromosomes and a regulated partitioning of other cellular components important for the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of daughter cells.
The two astral arrays of microtubules are nucleated from the centrosomes at the spindle poles; these microtubules interact with the cell cortex and are required to position the spindle within the mitotic cell.
Lamin B is required for spindle morphogenesis, and it appears to function as a structural component of a membranous matrix that tethers a number of SAFs.

This one spindle is actually used in all 73 and up B, F, J, M and R body cars, which is a HUGE source for cheap disk brakes.
On the A spindle, the balljoint is integral to the steering arms, while the B spindle has a balljoint in the control arm, having just a tapered hole in the steering arm.
The spindles are the same, and simply swapped from one side to the other in certain cars to provide clearance where needed.

Spindle neuron - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Spindle neurons are a specific class of neurons that participate in signal transmission in the nervous system, and are characterized by a large spindle shaped soma, gradually tapering into a single apical dendrite (axon) in one direction, with only a single dendrite facing opposite.
Spindle neurons are relatively enormous cells that refract waves of neural signals as they are transmitted in waves from one region of the brain to other regions.
Spindle neurons have been implicated by scientists as having an important role in a myriad of cognitive abilities and disabilities generally unique to humans, ranging from savant perceptiveness and perfect pitch to dyslexia and autism.

Kingdom of Ealdormere: Spindle Spinning   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Until the introduction of the spindle wheel into Europe, around the middle to latter part of the 13th century, all fibres for clothing, sails and ropes were spun on the spindle.
The advantage of the support spindle is that the surface on which it rests prevents the spindle from back spinning thereby eliminating the untwisting of the spun fibres.
The yarn produced on this spindle tends to be softer and therefore not as strong.

 Essays Page
The structure formed during mitosis and meiosis that is responsible for moving the chromatids and chromosomes to opposite poles of the cell.
The spindle consists of a system of microtubules whose synthesis starts late in interphase under the control of a microtubule-organizing center; in plants and animals this is the centrosome.
During anaphase, the ends of the microtubules attached to the kinetochores progressively disassemble and the microtubules shorten, hauling the chromatids towards the spindle pole.

When the yarn is long enough to make the spindle drag, untie the half hitch and wrap the spun yarn around the spindle next to the whorl.
Fibers spun with a drop spindle are attenuated (drawn out of the fiber bundle) by your hands as well as the weight of the spindle.

The Cell Cycle & Mitosis Tutorial
Spindle fibers align the chromosomes along the middle of the cell nucleus.
Motion results from a combination of kinetochore movement along the spindle microtubules and through the physical interaction of polar microtubules.
The spindle fibers disperse, and cytokinesis or the partitioning of the cell may also begin during this stage.

 abnormal spindle
At telophase, it migrates to microtubules on the spindle side of both daughter nuclei and is not associated with the centrosome in interphase cells.
These observations, together with the ability to build spindles without centrosomes in vitro that are able to undertake metaphase and anaphase, has been taken to mean that centrosomes might be dispensable in the formation of a functional spindle in some systems.
In spindles that had only one focused pole, individual bundles of the microtubules could be seen to extend both from this focus and from small punctate caps of Asp at the unfocused pole towards the chromosomes (Barbosa, 2000).

 Mini-Mill Spindle Concepts and Design
In our spindle the shaft is held by a single assembly (of four bearings) that are mounted at one end of the shaft (between the nose and motor).
We estimate that if the spindle is dissipating 200 W of heat (10% of a 2 kW Spindle motor) it will take about 3 gallons per hour to hold the spindle at within 2 C of air temperature (assuming the cooling water enters at a temperature of 10 C).
Since the bearings are held at the end of the spindle which the water exits, we use the water exit temperature (Two) for the water temperature in the groove.

Spindle Extenders Install - How To - Hot Rod Magazine
The second-generation spindle is of a front-steer design, and the early spindles are rear steer.
Spindle extenders do just that: They bolt between the upper ball joint and the spindle, effectively lengthening the spindle.
The bolt is not a press fit into the spindle as the ball joint stud would be, but the upper ball joint and this connection aren’t subjected to the extreme loads that the lower ones are, so the connection is plenty strong, according to Pro Motorsports.

 Types of Drop Spindles
Choosing the type of spindle to use, will be determined by the type of yarn you want to produce, and the type of fiber being used.
A top-whorl spindle is also a suspended spindle and has the whorl at the top of the shaft and is usually lightweight.
The spindle is rolled up the thigh allowing it to twirl, then sliding it down and rolling it up again, as the yarn twists off the tip of the spindle.

Mitotic spindle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the wide middle portion, known as the spindle midzone, antiparallel microtubules are bundled by kinesins.
During spindle assembly in mitosis, some of the spindle's microtubules attach to the kinetochores that assemble on the centromere portion of the chromosomes.
Once all the chromosomes are aligned with sister chromatids pointing to opposite ends of the spindle, the cell enters anaphase, in which the chromatids separate and move toward their respective poles.

The cells were fixed and probed with fluorescent-labeled, anti-tubulin antibodies that attach to the spindles of metaphase cells.

These features are based on the spindle's intrinsic coordinate system, which is referenced to the spindle center of mass and principal axes of inertia (see Fig 2).
