Spinnaker Tower is a concrete, steel and composite structure that rises 170m from the sea adjacent to Gunwharf Quays.
The tower provides three high-level trapezoidal viewing platforms that vary in size from 18m x 14m down to 12m x 4.7m for the highest open deck.

At the base of the Tower is a large shopping complex and it is proving to be a huge attraction with locals, tourists and need I say photographers.
Seems to have a basic design flaw in that the spinnaker part faces open water and wouldnt allow for much else than a documentary shot of its best side no matter what the lens...unless u were on a boat.
The Spinnaker viewing platforms look out over the harbour mouth - I was on the wrong side of the safety barrier as it was to take this one until I had my collar tugged.
