	Love Spit Love - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Love Spit Love was a musical group founded in 1992 by singer Richard Butler following the initial disbanding of the Psychedelic Furs.
		To record their debut album, the band brought in Butler's brother (and Furs bandmate) Tim to fill in on bass.
		The band's second album, Trysome Eatone, was released in August of 1997.

	The Daily Vault Album Reviews : Spit Blood
		With the band's first two albums, inconspicuously titled Atomic Bitchwax and Atomic Bitchwax II, being received with generally wide acclaim, guitarist Ed Mundell of Monster Magnet fame, bassist Chris Koznik (ex-Godspeed), and drummer Keith Ackerman found themselves releasing what normally would be considered an EP of sorts with their seven-song effort Spit Blood.
		The Spit Blood take is a groovy little number, highly synthesized in the opening, that maintains the same overall pace and sonic diversity of the previously released version.
		Spit Blood should be remembered for what it is and that is nothing more than a "cleaning of the closet" of material most suited for die-hard Atomic Bitchwax fans.

		If you listened to Spit, the debut release from the Canadian female quartet Kittie, you'd agree with me. It's a disc that's as intense as a train wreck, only you're sitting in one of the engines, loving every minute of the impending collision.
		I'm telling you, Mom, I knew this was going to be one of the most intense rides I've been on since I listened to that all-female Japanese punk band.
		Spit is the kind of disc that suggests Kittie has no plans to follow those rules, and is in it for the long run.

		As on Love Spit Love's first disc (which featured one song that sounded like it was orchestrated with kazoos), Butler sounds freer these days to experiment with new directions.
		Richard Fortus' guitar prowess shines throughout this album; his stylistic range is probably the main difference that separates the Love Spit Love sound from that of The Furs.
		His latest solo album is a collection of easy listening tracks that wouldn't have sounded too out of place under the Mike & The Mechanics umbrella.

		"Spit" as a whole is an emotionally disconnected kick to the crotch delivered by the sometimes sweet voiced and sometimes growling Morgan Lander (vocals/guitar), Fallon Bowman (guitar), Talena Atfield (bass) and Mercedes Lander (drums).
		I wouldn't necessarily say that they are the best band or even best girl band but, "Spit" is just that good of an album that the CD itself hangs with some of my other bands (talk about dancing around equality for men and women).
		honestly, all their albums are great, this was their first, so i though i would comment on this one, since it was the first one i heard.

		'Spit Blood' is their third effort, and if rumours of (yet another) breakup are true, their swansong.
		First off, there is just over half an hour of music including a cover song, several new songs, a re-make of a song on their second album, and some previously unreleased material.
		The album starts with 'The Destroyer,' which sounds the most like the Bitchwax of old, followed by the speedy 'You Oughta Know,' with its background vocals giving it an almost QOTSA accessibility.

		Shapes Of Spirits is in my mind quite a challenging album to listen to, from progressive wellplayed powermetal to outrageously heavydoom and symphonic elements baked in as well, a great album check it out if you dont have a copy.
		Pawnshop is back with a new album on Beard Of Stars, their first Aloha from Return was a pretty charming disc and this one is a natural follower but this one are more straightforward and more intense.
		Alpha and Omega is the first album for a label since 1994 (!) when Penance released the masterpiece Parallel Corners for Century Media, in my mind one of the most stunning albums released in the mid-90s and one of the best in that decade.

		This album was spit-shined until it sparkled; the production really isn’t a tremendous departure from the sheen you’ll hear on either of Coheed and Cambria’s discs.
		That album's beauty and melodic creativity deserved more attention and respect than I had previously given the band due to my lack of interest in groups deliberately trying to emulate Sunny Day Real Estate, of which Appleseed Cast was.
		But the band’s ability to blend herky-jerky rock dynamics with piece-meal lo- and hi-fi electronica, and still maintain a hardcore/post-punk sensibility results in an album that is as earthy as it is spacey and as humanistic as it is calculated.

		I had gotten this album after Until The End, so I was slightly suprrised by it.
		I really liked this album, my fav songs on it are "Brackish" and "Charolette," but the whole cd was pretty good.
		One of the best songs must be spit because thats a song you can really headbang to and then wake up the next day with a splitting head ache and major neck pains.

		My only regret about the album is the amount of screaming compared to singing.

		First off, this album is a little slower and heavier than the first album.
		The lyrics are more or less inaudible because singer Morgan Lander does a lot of low grumbling and growling and maybe it has something to do with my years and years of audio abuse to the ears (damn you Slayer!) but I just can't understand her at times.
		On Spit, Kittie's 1999 debut, the just-out-of-high-school all-female quartet were an anomaly, giving the male-dominated metal scene a run for its money thanks to the Canadian lineup's near death-metal heaviness.

		The fact that all of the band's members are still in high school is almost incidental, as Spit contains a maturity and insight, not to mention a musicianship, not usually ascribed to the under-21 set.

		Oracle, their second album, may be a little worse and much more metal, but it's still good.

		As an added bonus(?), Spit includes a multimedia enhanced partition on the disc that fails as miserably as the audio part of the CD.
		First off, the label has been sold on some proprietary format that insists on installing crap on your computer instead of industry standards that cut down on this kind of unnecessary and invasive bullshit.
		The album "Spit" and the Kittie marketing juggernaut is all about this group of young, attractive female alterna-rockers who aren't afraid to stand up to anyone.

		The girls' use of loud guitars, pounding bass lines, and thunderous drumming shows that all though they are young, Kittie are not to be viewed as another teenage novelty act.
		Although some are dismissing the band's music as mere teenage anger, these critics will be dismissed as the band further develops and becomes that much better.

		From reading some stuff from their website, and from listening to and trying to decipher the lyrics of their debut album "Spit" (Released in late 1999) these girls have a serious angst problem.
		So, the best three songs on the release are "Spit", "Brackish" and "Do you think I'm a whore", and while the lyrics don't impress me, "Choke" is a pretty powerful tune as well.
		I would give the album a 3.5, but it's not quite a 4, so it's a 3 with a thumbs up.

		The highlights of the album lie with the one hit yielded from the album "Am I Wrong", which is a song which digs deep into regret and melancholy and romance and the lyrical and musical brilliance of "Codeine".
		This album is very reminiscent of the works of another truly great band R.E.M., and I can't help thinking that some of the inspiration for this album are from R.E.M. songs.
		It's hard to say, but the first Love Spit Love album is not a heck of alot different than the Furs last ("World Outside"), and that's just fine.
