Although Spring Hill Cemetery Park is still an active cemetery with a new section opened recently it is also a wonderful place to walk, enjoy nature's beauty and an awesome view of the valley.
Spring Hill Cemetery Park can be reached from the North end of Morris Street by going right on Piedmont Road and up the ramp over the interstate, then on up to the top of the hill on Farnsworth Drive.
The Friends of Spring Hill Cemetery Inc., was formed as a non-profit volunteer group in June 2001.

Nestled in the rolling hills southeast of downtown Huntington, Spring Hill Cemetery is the oldest, most historic, large, publicly owned cemetery in and about the city.

Local civic group, the David Garrick Dramatic Company, embedded the time capsule in a pillar at the entrance of Spring Hill Cemetery, one of its charitable projects.
Reese knows much of the history surrounding Wisconsin Dells and the David Garrick Company not only because she's 80 years-old, but because Harriet Richards was her half-aunt and she was in the last major performance at Wisconsin Dells High School gym December 6, 1932.

Virgil Matthews helped dig many graves in the Spring Hill Cemetery and once stated that often times he and others would begin to dig a grave in an unmarked area, discover the remains of a casket, refill the cavity, and begin digging elsewhere.
A chain-link fence was installed to keep cattle from entering the area and annual efforts were made to retake the area from the brush and weeds.
