Company Quartermaster Sergeant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Squadron Quartermaster Corporal (SQMC) is the equivalent in the Household Cavalry (in which it is an appointment of Staff Corporal).
However, in the artillery the rank is known as Battery Quartermaster Sergeant (BtyQMS, not to be confused with the higher rank of Battalion Quartermaster Sergeant (BQMS), which is equivalent to a Warrant officer), and in the cavalry it is known as Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant (SQMS).

Sergeant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sergeant is a rank used in some form by most militaries, police forces, and other uniformed organisations around the world.
In many armies, the term "Sergeant" is sometimes actually applied to a soldier of higher or lower rank holding an appointment — for example a Corporal in the British Army holding the appointment of Lance-Sergeant, or a Warrant Officer in the Canadian Forces holding the appointment of Company Quartermaster Sergeant.
The main infantry role of a Sergeant is as Second in Command of a platoon or commander of a Fire Support Section of a weapons platoon, such as an anti-tank or mortar platoon.

 Sabre Squadron
A squadron is the largest force which will normally conduct a single operation, though squadron-strength operations are less common than those of troop or patrol size, or combinations thereof.
Also in the HQ are the Squadron Sergeant Major (SSM), a warrant officer class 2, the Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant (SQMS), a staff sergeant, and a few clerks, storemen and armourers.
Note: although originally meant to be a Guards squadron, it is rare for over half of the men to be volunteers from the Household Cavalry and the five regiments of Foot Guards, however most of the officers have been from these units.
