Square One TV was very successful in teaching millions of kids the basics of mathematics, many of whom had struggled in mathematics in school.
Square One TV premiered on January 26, 1987.
Square One was produced in New York City, while Mathnet was produced separately for two seasons in Los Angeles, California by The Webb Organization.

Square One TV Square One TV One day when I was six (this was 1987) at around 4:30 PM, I tuned into PBS expecting Mister Roger's Neighborhood.
My eyes were glued to the TV as I embraced the detective story, anticipating the answer to the mystery.
When he was six years of age, he did not have access to Square One TV, 321 Contact and most of the wonderful educational shows I watched when I was his age.

Square One TV is currently not in syndication.
This Square One TV episode includes the game show "But Who's Counting," the "Angle Dance" music video ("I Love the 80's," anyone?), and the first installment of the "Missing Baseball" Mathnet case.

I have trouble believing it today, but, when in fourth grade, I persuaded my teacher that Square One was educational enough to show daily in class.
I loved square one, watched it right before dinner with my brother--like the rest of you, we were totally into it.
Square One even had the Fat Boys do a rap video for them, on the subject of (I believe) divisibility by 9.

Episodes like the one where the guy hid his fortune under a sidewalk tile that was built using the Golden Ratio Square and the one where some crook uses a to Huey Helicopter hijack an ENTIRE HOUSE and uses the static interference from the neighborhood to cover his tracks are classic and interesting.
Square One TV was a truly innovative show.
I looked at TV Tome's episode guide for fun the other night, and I was amazed at how much I still remembered.
