Audio quality seems improved over the original Squeezebox (but not over version 2) this is in part due to the high quality 24-bit Burr-Brown™ DAC which portrays the quality (or lack of) in each encoding.
All this gushing praise and we haven't even got to the revised looks of the Squeezebox 3, after all the canny ones amongst you will notice that the visual changes are the biggest part of this third generation player as the majority of features were available on series 2 devices.

Both Squeezeboxes draw the same power when "off" or when on and idle.
In my estimation a 1 amp power supply is usable with the wired model but not suitable for the wireless.
I think a supply capable of 1.5 amp would be better for either device and mandatory for the wireless Squeezebox.

A user recently requested audio out attenuation for matching the output of the Squeezebox to their amp and it was litterally implemented the same day.
The squeezebox would have the advantage that my entire collection will be accessible on it no matter where I am in the house, provided I have network connectivity.
One of my Squeezeboxes is the other side of a thick wall from the router and is at about 80% while the other is in a bedroom upstairs and through several walls and is about 40% but I've had no problems with cut-offs.
