	Squidbillies - The TV IV
		Squidbillies (2005-Present) is a series on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim about a couple of squids who are also hillbillies, created by the same team behind Aqua Teen Hunger Force and The Brak Show.
		Instead of airing the pilot for Squidbillies, Adult Swim aired a pilot episode of Perfect Hair Forever, an anime parody also in development, followed by an unusual talk show about Perfect Hair Forever featuring Meatwad, Sharko and Earlie Kyler with Space Ghost moderating.
		Initially, the overwhelming majority of viewers thought that Squidbillies had never existed and that Adult Swim was pulling an elaborate prank on its audiences, although footage of the pilot was shown at the 2004 San Diego Comicon and DragonCon.

		They showed the Squidbillies pilot at 12/11, and then during the rerun at 3/2, they showed Perfect Hair Forever, complete with the appearing/disappearing moustaches and beards from last April Fool's Day.
		I recall that the consensus was that they had never really planned on showing Squidbillies, which was probably a bad idea they never finished but decided to turn into a kind of time-release practical joke.

		What makes Squidbillies different (aside from the whole squid business) is that these characters aren't trying to make a better future.
		Besides all their tentacled dysfunction, the family has its run-ins with the kindly but none-too-bright town sheriff, local sheetrock mogul Dan Halen and the inexplicable Snakeman (who, by our last count, has eaten the sheriff at least twice).
		The art for Squidbillies is about one and a half steps above what a very talented third-grader could draw (we could swear we've seen Snakeman on someone's refrigerator before).
